AARON LUO
Architect Spatial Artist
Aaron (Zhaosen) Luo is an architectural designer whose work spans spatial design, heritage preservation, digital fabrication, and interdisciplinary curation. Based in New York City, he is a dual Master’s candidate in Architecture and Historic Preservation at Columbia University, building upon a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, where he won first place in the Fitzgibbon Charrette Design Competition.
Aaron’s professional experience includes work at Cai Guo-Qiang Studio in New York, contributing to major international projects such as the artist’s solo exhibition at the Museum of Art Pudong and the fireworks design for the Pompidou Center’s anniversary celebration. He also helped conceptualize and design the AI-based exhibition cAI™ Lab 2.0 at MGM Macau.
His work with O-Office Architects in Guangzhou focused on spatial curation and augmented-reality interactive design, including the exhibition of Giacometti’s Walking Woman in Langtou Ancient Village. At llLab. Architects in Shanghai, he contributed to campus planning, interior studies, and material-driven environmental design.
Aaron is the Managing Editor of Future Anterior, Columbia University’s peer-reviewed journal on architectural heritage, where he works at the intersection of scholarship and practice. His academic projects include augmented-reality research, digital fabrication, and international studies in Florence and at the Architectural Association’s Bamboo Lab.
With technical expertise in Rhino, Grasshopper, Blender, Unreal Engine, AR/VR applications, and architectural visualization, Aaron’s work reflects a commitment to innovative design, cross-cultural storytelling, and the evolving relationship between built space and digital experience.
