MADELINE HALL

GUITARIST

Madeline Hall is a Canadian guitarist and composer based in New York City, recognized for her commanding artistry and stylistic versatility across classical and jazz traditions. She was named to CBC’s 2023 list of “30 Under 30: Top Canadian Classical Musicians” and has been described by CBC Radio as a “tremendously authoritative and powerful performer.”

Madeline is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree at The Juilliard School, where she studies under Sharon Isbin. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from Western University in London, Ontario, studying with Wilma van Berkel.

An active soloist and chamber musician, Madeline performs regularly throughout the United States and Canada. In 2024, she concertized in South Africa and presented a masterclass and workshop at the University of Pretoria, where she will return as a guest lecturer in spring 2026. She will also attend the 2025 Aspen Music Festival and School, participating as both performer and teaching artist in the festival’s P.A.L.S. lessons program.

Madeline has received numerous prizes at national and international competitions, including the Quebec International Music Competition, the Grand Metropolitan International Music Competition, Boston GuitarFest, and the Kiwanis Festival of London’s Rose Bowl Prize. She is also a three-time First Prize winner of the Ontario Music Festivals Association provincial guitar competition. In addition to her classical work, Madeline is an accomplished jazz guitarist and has appeared as a featured artist on Jazz FM 91.1’s Jazzology program in Toronto.
