Lighting Designer
Neil Qiu is a lighting designer and theatre collaborator whose work transforms space, story, and emotion through light. A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, he is known for crafting evocative visual worlds that shape atmosphere, rhythm, and narrative with poetic clarity.
Neil’s designs have appeared internationally at institutions such as D Lab Dance and the Ming Contemporary Art Museum in Shanghai, as well as Playwrights Horizons and Broadway Asia in New York. His production credits span theatre, dance, and interdisciplinary performance, including works such as Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, The Sound of Music (World Tour), and Love’s Labor’s Lost. His work has been recognized by the Connecticut Critics Circle with nominations and awards for Best Lighting Design and Outstanding Production.
Blending Eastern precision with Western innovation, Neil approaches each project as a collaborative exploration of truth and emotion.
