Haoquan Wang

Digital Artist

Haoquan Wang is a New York–based multidisciplinary artist and creative technologist whose work spans digital image-making, virtual production, and spatial installation. With a background in 3D media and interactive technologies, he constructs cinematic worlds where garments, bodies, and environments move fluidly between reality and simulation.

Rooted in a precise sense of space and immersion, Wang’s practice explores the tension between hyper-controlled virtual environments and intimate, emotionally charged narratives. Working with tools such as Unreal Engine and emerging AI-driven workflows, he creates hybrid spaces that blur the boundaries between digital and physical experience.

Recent projects include Blue Desert, an Unreal Engine short film tracing a young woman’s journey through fragmented memory and maternal absence, and Dolca Morto, a virtual-production fashion lookbook that reimagines the runway as a shifting, game-like landscape. He has also contributed 3D animation and projection mapping to large-scale works including Cai Guo-Qiang’s Interspecies Love Letter: Sky Painting for EARTH to SPACE.

Beyond his studio practice, Wang is the initiator of the “Nanhai Li Arts” residency in Hainan, which connects designers and artists with Li minority craft, fishing-village culture, and site-specific research. He holds a Master’s degree in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University.
